Hi Jack, at the recent excellent friday night party at Road America, I had
occasion to visit with one of the drivers of what I believe is called the
Porsche AGT group. He was driving a Vintage 2002 Porsche along with 6 or 7
other Porsches of the same time frame. They had their own race group in
spite of the small number of cars. In the course of our conversation he
explained to me that they were a splinter group which had broken away from
the PCA because they did not want to have to comply with the 13/13 rule
regarding contact during races. As you are aware during their Sunday
afternoon race several of their cars had a coming together with heavy damage
to two cars and one of the drivers coming back in the ambulance. This
incident delayed Groups 6 and 10 from getting on the track and I believe
shortened their races. All of the aforementioned leads me to ask two
questions: Is this "Vintage " group going to be a permanent part of SVRA and
if so are they exempt from our 13/13 rule?
