ALERT- CALIFORNIA MEMBERS
I just read an article in today's paper, and confirmed that there is pending
legislation (SB708) that not only repeals SB42 which exempted 1973 and older
vehicles from smog checks, actually changes it to 45 years and older, effective
2005. This means that any vehicle newer than 1960 (which had NO smog equipment)
will have to be smogged to be registered. >:^(
We all need to contact our state senators and get this bill SQUASHED! I'm sure
that SEMA will be all over this, but as active car club members we need to do
what we can to help them!
