A new book on Meadowdale International Raceway, a ghost track near
Carpentersville IL, is scheduled for 2003. Written by Bill Pohnan of nearby
Streamwood IL, the book will contain over 500 pages of track history,
statistics and pictures. Pohnan terms the book, "a shameless exercise in
nostalgia".
Meadowdale Raceway was a 3.27 mile road course which was active from 1958 to
1969. It hosted professional races by USAC, ARCA, AMA and SCCA, and amateur
events by local SCCA regions, Midwestern Council and other clubs.
