The V4 gave the Sonett similar performance to the other funny little sporty
cars of the day and SAAB offered (through their Sport and Rally Catalog) the
parts to turn it into an honest firebreather (proven in international
competition).

Admittedly, the styling was... interesting. I actually prefer the purely
Swedish designs of the earlier production Sonetts ('66 to '69) over the
Italian penned Sonett III's of the early 70's. I suppose that preference
marks me as a true SAABnut...
