Any auto parts store. The best way is to get to know them well enough so they
will let you go in the back and look in the boxes. Most of the really small
ones come with serpentine belt pulleys so you may need to change that. Almost
all now come with internal regulators that just need a B+ wire to the
battery and an exciter wire to the field. That can go to the ign. switch or a
separate switch. You can even put a jumper wire from the B+ terminal to the
field, but then you will have to remember to flip the cut-off switch between
sessions or the battery will discharge.
The main issue is to find one that you can mount so the pulleys line up. You
may have to cut the mounting ears or use spacers. It's not difficult.
