They certainly had the option available. Disc brake kit p/n H.8249. Whether
these were ever factory installed may be in question, but they were a listed
racing option.
BTW, SCCA allowed spindles, bearings and hubs to be modified or substituted
as lond as the track measurement was correct. I would say that one can use
any period parts (you define the period) that do the job.
