I'm glad you all like SIR, because I've not heard a word of its demise. In
my humble opinion, getting rid of the present mgmt of the track is the best
thing that can happen for us road racers. It's a vintage track alright, 25
years of mgmt and the bare minimum to keep it alive, complete with vintage
dangers. He catered strictly to the drag racers.
The true word will become clearer soon, specifically at Andy Collins 6th
annual Performance Racing seminar
(http://armadilloracing.com/announcement.htm). We expect to hear 'the
truth' of SIR's future, and from what I've heard, it's good things. I
believe there's far too much money up here to let the track die, it won't.
It will most likely become re-sanctioned by the SCCA and NHRA and continue
on its merry way, albeit with some subtle changes, but I'm not an insider.
We'll see what incarnation the track takes.
