I think that Ford Diesel is the unit made by International Harvestor and
is one of the best, long lived unit on the road.

Friend of mine was a Chief Engineer at I H and swears by the unit,
HOWEVER he also swears AT the manual transmission Ford couples to the
engine.

He claims it is shot at under 100,000 miles while the engine is good for
250,000.

Problem is that there is no proper sized trannie available that will
stand the hi torque of the engine.
