That's another weak point that I have noticed with all Spitfire related
Triumphs.
The vertical link at the front lower trunnion either:

Does anyone have any cure for that?

As it turns out, upon further investigation the left rotor had a 120 degree
piece missing. It looks like it broke first, causing the wheel to lock which
overstressed the lower trunnion. The trunnion was free to turn so I don't
think it broke first.
