I just got back from the Jefferson 500, and am working up the trip report,
but in the meantime, I learned from Charlie Gibson that there is still time
to enter the inaugural VIR Homecoming featuring The Gold Cup Historic Races.
The event will take place at the famous Virginia International Raceway in
Southern Virginia on June 9-11, 2000.
You've seen the reports on the track. Now it is time to sign up and
support it! This is a spectator event.. let's put on a good show! It's the
best track in North America, and we are lucky to have it restored. Time
to belly up to the bar and help out! Rules are the same as the Dodge
Vintage Festival at Lime Rock. That means Monoposto cars, including Formula
Fords, plus other cars, not normally seen at a VDCA event are invited.
There is also a test day, June 8, before the event, and Vintage Garage is
providing beer, sodas, and chips that evening immediately following the test
day for all early-birds.. drivers, crews, and track workers. Please come by
and join us in the Paddock.

Vintage Garage is awarding special prizes to all Formula cars that can
beat my qualifying time, with photos and special recognition on the web
site. Let's see some drivers take me up on it! I know Grant and Stan
expect to beat me.. let's get some more out there. The track record for
vintage FFs, FVs, and FBs is there waiting for you.
