The Second Annual vintage sportscar "Race at the Base" will be held
at the Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia Beach, Va. during May 5, 6, & 7,
2000. Sanctioned by the Virginia Beach Racing Association in coperation
with the United States Navy & the City of Virginia Beach "Race at the
Base"is a recreation of the traditional spirit of sportscar racing that
took place at airports in the early 1950's in America. Great Navy and
City hospitality plus a "Base to the Beach" street parade are additional
highlights.
The two and a half mile course will be in a new location at the base in
year 2000, and should be almost barrier free racing again. This years
layout will prove even more popular than last year design as there will
be bigger full concrete paddock areas, better viewing, & more turns of
different varieties!
It's still out of season rates at the best Atlantic Ave. Beach front
hotels so plan to attend. World class eateries abound while tourisum.
shopping, & great museums await your crew and guests. Pleasant seasonal
May weather, one of the best sand beachs on the east coast, a great week-
end with your favorite race car & friends should make for an IDEAL RACE
WEEKEND. In the Spirit of the Sport!
