G Forces

Skip Barber uses a data recorder (no camera) that records all of the above,
plus G forces. Anyone on the list know how expensive such a system is?


Don't know about cameras but "Data collection" for acceleration (G Force), RPM
and speed is rather expensive.
I have been researching this for a few months and found several alternatives
from as little as $500 to as much as
$2,000.  The less expensive equipment does not use actual speed sensors to
measure speed but instead measure
acceleration vrs time to calculate speed.  Check out the following links and you
will learn a lot.  The Pi-Group
link seems to be down today, these are the top of the line guys with
professional equipment.  The last link is to a
go-cart sight but has a lot of good info.
