I understand those who would like to keep their interiors period and
original, including the seat.  However, as we now know in hindsight, those
seats were unsafe when used and have not become more safe with the passage
of time.  If you intend to race, not tour, I strongly recommend a sturdy
racing seat, with integral headrest, mounted to the floor or roll cage or
crossmember, and with a seat back brace connected to the roll bar/cage..

I use a butler aluminum seat, but a a kirkey or similar would be fine.  Do
not take a chance with you own safety for the sake of originality.  You do
not use a vintage style helmet or driving suit or belts...
