Subject: U of VARA... Eeee-Haaaa!
(I've been lurking on the vintage-race-digest list for several months now,
but decided to subscribe to the regular list because) After attending the
University of VARA at Buttonwillow this past weekend I just have to say:
WHAT A BLAST!
Fine facility, great instructors, and some extremely cool cars. I had a
ton of fun, learned a LOT, and met a bunch of nice folks. My thanks to
Danny McKeever, Jeff Ireland, John Dettinger and Mike Ward for helping to
make it one of the best weekends I've had in a very long time.
My only regret was that my Sprite is still in pieces (pre-resto pics at
http://pw2.netcom.com/~rsnover/sprite/980926.html) so I had to use my
street car ('94.5 MustangGT), but that was fun and instructional, too.
I hope to start getting some seattime in my Sprite very soon, so I can go
back to Buttonwillow as a rookie for the British Extravaganza in May. This
time, I'll actually know some of the people there.
