MSD soft touch rev limiter

I am about to install a MSD "soft touch" rev limiter on my (points) MGA.
Sorry its not vintage, but it's either that or learn how to not miss
gears.

I notice in the instructions that it REQUIRES that solid ignition wires
NOT be used.

I am using solid ignition wires.  Does anyone have any experience in
using this unit with solid ignition wires, perhaps the noise spikes can
freak it out, or maybe MSD are just covering their butt.
