You may find that racing a vintage Formula Ford is more expensive than club
racing. The entry fees are considerably higher, the parts are more expensive
and the spec tires are three times the cost of club racing tires. If your
reason for getting into vintage racing is motivated solely by a desire to race
in the cheapest forum, you may be committing a grave error, both in terms of
accuracy and attitude, by getting into vintage racing.

Racing Formula Fords is great fun, but it is not the cheapest form of racing.
There are many regional club series that are considerably cheaper than vintage
racing (e.g., SCCA's Improved Touring). If you want to have fun, however,
vintage racing is certainly the place to be.
