1st Race Mobil 1-MSCC Historics

Greetings to all!

The Manila Sports Car Club just held its first race of the season over the
weekend (21-22 March) at the Subic International Raceway.

There were 13 cars which participated in the event co-sponsored by Mobil 1.
The cars and their respective drivers were as follows:

Class B         Corvette Roadster       Michael Aguilar
                Shelby GT350            Vic Yenko

Class C         Datsun 240Z             Joey Almeda (bumped up to next class)

Class D         Lotus Elan              Andy Sta. Maria
                Porsche 914             Louie Ablaza
                Opel GT                 Louie Camus
                MGB                     Ricky Caguiat
                MGB                     Lambert Ablaza
                Triumph TR4             Sophie de los Santos

Class E         Mini 1275GT             Reggie Sy (bumped up to next class)

Class F         MGA                     Monchit Hermoso
                Karmann Ghia            Marc Ablaza

Class G         Austin Healey Sprite    Nene Sy-Quia (bumped up to next class)


There were two 8-lap sprints around the track and the results of the first
race were as follows:

Class B Champion        Michael Aguilar (winner by virtue of illegal 240Z)

Class D Champion        Louie Camus
        2nd             Ricky Caguiat
        3rd             Reggie Sy

Class F Champion        Marc Ablaza


The second race results were as follows:

Class B Champion        No winner (Cars DNF except illegal 240Z)

Class D Champion        Louie Camus
        2nd             Reggie Sy
        3rd             Sophie de los Santos

Class F Champion        Marc Ablaza


The next race of the series will be held next month at the Batangas Racing
Circuit.  We will keep you informed on the actual dates.
