Sorry for the wide distribution - if you don't care about SB42,
you probably should, but you can send me hate mail anyway.
If you've been meaning to write to someone in Sacramento to
indicate your support of SB42, but just haven't gotten
around to it, here's a fairly painless way to do the job:
http://exo.com/~jht/truck/sb-42/message2.html
It also has a pointer to the main text of the bill and its status.
Please note that you should still write a letter. Several surveys
have shown that the most effective (in terms of getting your
point noted as important) communication with politicians is
pen and paper. A handwritten note is taken as indication that
as many as 1000 people share that opinion; typewritten slightly
less, phone calls less than that. FAX, mass mailed post cards and
email are effective, but not very. Send the letter to The Assembly
Appropriations Committee, State Capitol, Room 2114, Sacramento, CA 95814.
You can also call the Appropriations Committe to register support:
call 916-322-4323. It takes less than a minute; just say "I'm calling
to indicate my support for SB42."
