This wasn't the original Pooper but was a copy.

By the way, Sammy was the driver. He had never driven Elkhart before and
didn't even know which way the corners went. His description of his
entry onto the track went something like this:

" I could't believe that I was really at Elkhart and really on the track
in a real race car. I accelerated out of the pit and down the straight
full tilt. Suddenly I felt this big shake and heard this big noise and a
Ferrari came sliding by me, setting up for Corner One. Hell, I was still
accelerating...."

Was that the infamous "Pooper?"  There is a car that fits this
description running here in California.
