Paul van Valkenberg's Race Car Engineering & Mechanics (HP Books - ISBN
0-9617425-0-X - got mine through Classic Motorbooks) has diagrams with
dimensional recommendations and a (short) discussion (page 67). He states
that there are a number of factors influencing the dimensions for maximum
efficiency, but with the speeds we deal with and internal ducting losses,
the main reasons for using NACA inlets are larely their cosmetic value.
