SPQR Valve Adjuster

Has anyone used the SPQR valve adjustment device on a 280i? If anyone 
has, what number of clicks did you use and how did you derive them,
i.e., from an SPQR data card or from experimentation? Was it a
successful adjustment?
I have an SPQR device that I've used on my TR3 for which I have an SPQR
data card but it doesn't list the Ford 2.8l V6.
