In my case it is the electric pump only. Mechanical pump removed (3 new
within 6 months as I defined the problem). In my case the cam regrinder
evidently also ground down the cam pump lobe a little. The lobe was only
giving the pump leaver a partial pump. The car would hardly idle and my
fuel pressure gauge showed 0 at idle. The engine would tend to die if I
suddenly gave the DCOEs full throttle. Switched to a pump that was
providing 2-3 lbs at idle & the engine was totally transformed.
