Another potential option. Before the pandemic I delivered a bunch of =
wheels to a shop down in Southern California. I had my Porsche 356 =
wheels re-chromed. They cut off the rim, chrome the parts then weld them =
back together. My brother, who also as a 356, he had his wheels =
re-chromed, and at the same time had his widened from 4.5 to 5.5, so =
again they cut off the rim and keep the center, and weld on a new rim. =
My son who had a 1962 Austin Healey Sprite, had his rims widened a lot, =
I don=E2=80=99t remember the numbers. So my point is you could have a =
new rim welded on to the stock centers, and of course they made sure =
they were straight and true. This was a few years ago but I still have =
the info if they are still in business.
