A fun read, but given that the TR6 was modified with fuel injection I am
wondering if it had suspension mods as well. They describe the TR6 as
being this frenetic rip-roaring sports car, which is not how I would
describe a stock TR6 at all, maybe coming from a 70s Buick or whatever, but
compared to other small 60s and early 70s two seaters I think the TR6 was a
pretty soft and smooth.

Also they gave some production figures for early Datsun sales, but not any
sales figures for the cars they were comparing.

>From 1970 to 1973 they sold about 150,000 Z's in the US, with a peak year
of over 50,000 in 72. They sold about 77,000 TR6s from '69 to 76. So the
Z outsold the TR6 pretty handily, you are looking at about 10,000 TR6s a
year sold in the United States in average, I know more detailed numbers are
available, but didn't dig that far. Despite being described as long in
tooth and antiquated by contemporary magazines, the TR6 outsold the earlier
TRs, both overall and in the US.

Prices:

1968 (TR250) $3175.
1969 (TR6) $3275
1970 $3375. (240z) $3526
1971 $3595
1972 $3723
1973 $4095
1974 $4695. (240z) $4695
1975 $5295
1976 $6095

So they were direct competitors on price.
