I used an extra o-ring from an oil filter.  It had a square profile that
fit snugly but I had to trim it to fit.  I don't think I even bothered
gluing the ends together, just jammed it in there.

It's not sealing fluid or rocket fuel, just vapors so I figured that was
good enough.

If you don't have an extra from an oil filter box you may be able to find
something at Ace Hardware.
