Let's see, stored outside under a tarp for several years, valve stuck open=
, valve made out of steel, steel rusts, um... yeah, I think so.
Sorry for the bad news.
FWIW, I took my head to the shop the other week.=C2=A0 It was working mostl=
y OK but I was suffering from valve seat recession.=C2=A0 The machinist sai=
d my valves were rusting.=C2=A0 This on a working head.=C2=A0 So I ordered =
new valves.=C2=A0 Lot$ of $tuff to do on this head.

I don't know alot and my TR3 has been up on blocks outside covered up with =
a tarp for about 15 years.=C2=A0 I think I started the motor about 5=C2=A0y=
ears ago.=C2=A0 Its been quiet since that time; I've wanted to wait until r=
etirement to get it going again.=C2=A0 I didn't anticipate losing my driver=
s license, which might affect my plans.=C2=A0 However, maybe the TR3's styl=
ishness will throw off the cops if they pull me over.
I pulled back the tarp, (I had prievously removed the bonnett), lifted the =
valve cover and saw that I needed a pushrod tube as I never completed the v=
alve adjustment job about 5 years ago.In doing so I also saw one of the val=
ves stuck open! I don't remember this happening, but I'll need to address i=
t before continuing with the valve adjustment. Is there any likelyhood that=
something like stuck open because of a dry valve guide?=C2=A0 Is it essent=
ial that I pull the head?=C2=A0 I kinda think it is.
