Roger=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 I installed the Rostra kit w=
ith servo motors to operate the throttle. It is easy to do if you also use =
the Ratco throttle kit to replace the linkage from the firewall to the carb=
s.http://www.rat-co.com/throttle-linkage-kit
This way the cruise control cable connects right in with the Ratco kit. The=
 sensor on the drive shaft is a magnet glued to it and a sensor pick up mou=
nted in the tunnel. Easy to do. The magnet was on mine for 8 years before I=
 replaced it with a encoder on the transmission to run a electronic speedom=
eter. The encoder sends a signal to the speedometer and the cruise control.=
 Mine works really well. If you don't have OD, I used the OD escussion to m=
ount the cruise control stalk. I can send you pictures if you want.=C2=A0

Subject: [TR] TR 250 (TR4) Cruise control

Hi,
We are planning some long excursions this year in the TR 250, so I would=20
like to install a cruise control in the TR 250.

There have been two basic options mentioned in various posts.
1) The Rostra unit which is more expensive and seems to require have=20
more installation requirements (for example a sensor on the drive shaft=20
to register speed.)=20
http://www.rostra.com/universal-aftermarket-cruise-control-by-rostra.php
2) The recreation of the Audiovox cruise control, which requires a=20
vacuum canister. Quite a bit cheaper than the Rostra.=20

Csid=3DPYoe2OY2I0duN1IkGnMJ1=20

I have seen articles for installing both, but on carbs with a cable=20
linkage but none with the throttle linkage like the early TRs.

Has anyone installed on or the other on a TR250, TR4, etc that has the=20
rods, levers, bell crank arrangement? If so, how did you make the=20
connection?

Thanks,
Roger Elliott
