My favorite, and has been for 40+ years, is a little-known product called
Scotch Plastic Tape, found in many hardware stores. Don?t know why it?s not
better known, been around for decades. Comes in several colors, 3/4-inch and
1-1/2 inch widths (handy, the required rulebook minimum widths), and is
extremely paint-friendly. I?ve put it on my cars and left it there for months,
and it came off with no damage and minimum residue. Good luminescence too. I
carry rolls in both my main car colors just to use when things need a quick
change.

Don?t like duct tape for that purpose ? too sticky, too much residue.

Runoffs 2011, had to alter my numbers, the ?1? and the ?h? are made with the
Scotch Plastic Tape (the ?4? and the ?p? are pre-cut vinyl).

Easier yet is gaffers tape. It's adhesive leaves less of a residue than duct
tape as it is designed to be used in temporary applications like movie sets,
etc. Looks the same but has a matte cloth backing instead of a plasticized one.

Black duct tape. Same width and color as the numbers. Easy to take off but
leaves a little adhesive residue, which is easy to remove.

When you folks have to modify your number for an event what are you using
that doesn't make a mess of things when you take it off? Duct tape, electrical
tape, other?

    Thanks,

    Marty
