In my opinion - frequency (or doing it at all) may be more important than
what lube is used. I just use a drop of oil, but often.
I have a TR3 friend who has a ritual wherein he does this. Every time he
checks the oil - before he wipes the dip stick clean he touches it to each
of the linkage connections. Looks like a Triumph priest blessing the motor.
