Hi Jeff:
The Triumph Wedge Owners Association has the definitive answers to questions
like this one. The old info from the Registry has been completely assimilated
into our records :-)

TCN150xxx and TCN160xxx series coupes were made from roughly 1978 to 1980?
about 200 of the roughly 400 of these TR8 coupes survive. Paul MacDonald is THE
TR8 coupe registrar and has probably the most complete records on these cars of
anyone on the planet. Paul has recorded at least one other coupe VIN later than
that, 160145.
The rest of the Canley production TR8s had VINs with prefixes TPV or TPZ?
(I at one time was very closely related to TCN160005UCF, helped restore it back
to near Concours condition.)
The Bring a Trailer one fetched a pretty decent price, nearly $15k!
