Yup. I've been telling everyone for years now that according to Castrol, "synthetic" means only that it came out of a modern refinery, instead of directly out of the ground. In other words, the term is legally meaningless, like "fresh frozen fish". And there is absolutely no doubt that "synthetic" does NOT mean anywhere the same thing as "DOT 5" or "Silicone". -- Randall |
