Just curious for myself as the local wash offers Rain-X treatment. Does
this coating affect the efficiency of the windscreen wipers?

Not familar with Nanoauto products,
http://www.nanoprotect.co.uk/nano-for-car.html which is what I think you are
talking about. It reads comparably to Aquapel, which is popular here. I've
tried it and been rather under-impressed so far.
