Allan, I tried Mordy's gasket (a work of art), with limited success. It
is really critical that the sleeves protrude 0.002 - 0.003 (check his
Web site for exact #, I'm going from memory) and that they all protrude
equally all the way around. If your engine meets those requirements,
you won't be disappointed with his gasket. A side benefit is, since the
gasket is thinner than the composite gaskets, you'll increase your CR a
bit. He can also make special Figure 8 gaskets to provide the correct
sleeve protrusion.
I'm surprised you've burned gaskets with 87mm pistons, as I believe the
new gaskets are all made to allow for 87 pistons.
