John Reed,
I have had quite a variety of wheel equipment on my TR3.
Wire wheels from a 289 Cobra 6" rim 185s
Wire Wheels - Stock
Disc Wheels - Stock
Aluminum Wheels -
Tires - stock
Tires - competition
They are all fit.....sometimes spacers are required and preferred over
cutting studs.
I think the best handling tires I had on were the Toyo Proxes 205-50-15s on
aluminum wheels, and no spacers......they were surprisingly light on
steering.
We have used Toyo Proxes in vintage racing. They are cost effective and DOT
approved for the street.
Wire wheels are cool, but I like my alloys on the TR3.....see picture of my
TR3A with alloys on <photobucket.com/ambro> (it is loaded on my trailer
in the snow) :-)
There are about four pages of pictures, but some of it might be
entertaining.
