No doubt that is true as well. "Generally limited" is not the same as
"always limited".
If nothing else, a car being here now is no guarantee that it was sold here
originally. No doubt "personal export" vehicles were never more than a
small minority, but they did exist.
And it is still quite possible to import 60's cars from other countries.
For example, I've seen more Vitesses than Sports 6s at some shows.
