The fasteners clamp the parts together. The clamping force multiplied by
the
coefficient of friction is what keeps them from moving.
I'd also worry about problems the painter will incur when it's time to paint
the car. Kind of like the acid dipped bodys that are almost impossible to
get all the acid out of.
Where do you live Paul, is rust a problem there?
