Darrell, I've taken the liberty of copying you on this email. FYI, it
appears that the TRA judging manual is incorrect about the location of the
wiper
and dash light switches for TR3 and early TR3A. The diagram on page IN-21 of
the PDF version I have (dated 2004) has a note that the dash & wiper switches
traded places between TR2 and TR3. It is my belief that this did not happen
until much later; and was done in conjunction with the dash light rheostat.
As I recall, there was no specific change date for the rheostat, instead it
seems to have been fitted as an option for some time and only made standard
around 1959 or so.
I can take this question to the TRA Judging School in 07 in Geneva on Seneca
Lake in New York during the TRA National Meeting. This is the time that
they are real interested in going over inaccuracies in the Judging Manuals.
BTW,
If they get enough people they would like to have a Race Day @ the Glen as
in Watkins! Way Cool, Huh?
Thanks,
Darrell.
