Oh yea, way cool.
Burt and CO also built the 3/4 scale proof of concept for the mega tech Beech
Starship business aircraft. ( This is the one with a canard wing at the
front and main wind at the rear of the plane. )
One of Burt's associates, Bob Scherer, has one of the few that remain in
private hands. Beech has bought up all but 4 of the 53 planes produced. Sadly
Raytheon has long tried to kill the production of the plane and is now trying
to
eraticate all existance of the project.
For more info see Air and Space Smithsonian Sept 04 P 20
In the same issue ther is a short article about Burt's White Night twin boom
aircraft used to launch Space Ship One in the quest for the X prize. The SSO
was called " The Lotus 7 of spacecraft."
Oh, if I could only find a place like that to work for.
