You have snow to remove?

Here in Montreal which is pretty close to you, it's +5C (41F) today and
raining. Global warming may be hell at the equator, but it's not too bad in
Canada. Of course, I still want my white Christmas...

Everyone,

My LBC(well, not really, but obligatory content) John Deere loader had a
fuel problem that I had traced to the fuel injector pump.

Fuel injection pumps cost $1500 in the box.  They also cost money and two
weeks delivery time just for the tools necessary to turn the engine over to
TDC, compress the seal for installation, and so on.  Then there is the
matter of getting timing on the pump just right.  ...I wasn't anxious to
begin all that.

But...after I'd mentioned this in passing on the list, Michael Porter
e-mailed me off-list with advice, that coupled with what I learned on the
internet, gave me what I needed to fix the problem without removing the
pump.  (Issue was a combination of bleeding the lines and pulling and
unclogging a fuel tank return line ball/spring valve that was causing too
much backpressure within the pump.)

My loader is running and ready to remove snow, and I didn't have to spend
days outside n freezing weather working to remove and replace a $1500 item
that only had a minor issue.
