[TR] Stainless steel welding

Hi List, 

My TR4A Falcon stainless exhaust has cracked in the back plate of the front
muffler. I have an arc welding kit.

1.      Can one normally obtain stainless welding rods?
2.      Is it a different technique from mild steel welding?
3.      Can one weld s/ steel with mild steel rods?
4.      Any other ideas?
