The guideline is that tires older than 6 years from DOM
should not be installed, and tires should be removed from service no later

A relative of mine in Dallas bought two tires for his Ford pick up at
Discount Tire a few years ago, and a couple of years after he boutht them they
both
failed. When he took them back they refused to warrenty them because the
date of manufacture was over 6 years old, even though he had only purchased
them two years previously.

As he stared at her ample bosom, he daydreamed of the dual Stromberg
carburetors in his vintage Triumph, highly functional yet pleasingly formed,
perched prominently on top of the intake manifold, aching for experienced
hands, the small knurled caps of the oil dampeners begging to be inspected and
adjusted as
described in chapter seven of the shop manual.
