You've had some good suggestions.  Such a major overheating issue (the 
quickly part) is somewhat surprising given the newness of the rebuild & 
parts so I have to ask: How do you know that it is overheating?

If you are relying on the dash temp gauge you might want a second 
opinion from an infrared thermometer (available at Radio Shack, maybe 
Harbor Freight).  This will also let you measure the temp change between 
the inlet and outlet hose on the radiator.

If you have already verified the overheating with an independent gauge 
then disregard.
