I am considering changing the overdrive from a 22% to a 28% reduction, in the interest of lower rpms on extended highway trips. Will I "lose" some gears i.e. will overdrive in some gear be virtually the same as some other gear without overdrive? In practice, does it make any difference anyway? That is, does it end up that most of the time you only use o/d in 4th?
