Anyone know if it's true that the 'swept' intake manifold (verus the
'square' one) is only compatible with the later TR6 head with wider
port spacing? More specifically, is there a definitive way with the
engine assembled to tell if you have the earlier or later head?
I'm *finally* undertaking an engine rebuild on my '71 TR6 (the stars
have finally aligned--garage, money, and time! And sold the GT6 to
keep efforts focused...), and I'm doing the convenient engine mods to
get a bit more power. I'm converting to a dual pipe exhaust,
increasing compression to 9.25, adding Goodparts GP2 cam. I was
thinking about converting to the later head to go with swept intake
runners since I'll be rebuilding the head anyway, but then realized
a) I'm mistaken with what the swept manifold looks like, or b) that I
must already have the later head?? Pics here if it helps: http://

Thanks.
