Hi everyone,
Just a little update on my TR6 restoration project. My rebuilt engine
finally runs. The mechanic says we have a few electrical gremlins and a PWDA
leak to fix. It's the only part of the brake system I didn't rebuild so it
figures that it would cause me some problems. I sent out the rear differential
hubs
to C.A.R. Components @ TRF to have the seals and bearings exchanged. They sat
on a bench for 2 months before I could get them to work on them. What an
outfit they are!! I finally located 5 straight and true rims which are now
sandblasted and ready for paint. The windshield frame has a new coat of paint
and the
rubbers have been replaced and it now sits in its final location. Wow this is
scarey. I might actually be driving this thing soon for the first time in 25
years!
I need advice on tires. I would like to poll the TR6 owners out there as
to what you are using, where you got them and how much, what size and are you
happy with them. The cost of original Redlines makes my wife cringe, but I do
like the look. This project has already run way over budget(big surprise,
huh).I could always get them at a latter date though. Vredensteins have been
suggested by one member in the past.
Thanks so much for all your advice in the past. I can't wait to be out
there on the road with you folks soon.
