Not so, the rear studs on TR2-4 ARE threaded. However, they are also peened
into the hub from behind, so it's generally necessary to grind away the peened
area before unscrewing them. Unfortunately, you need to remove the
hub/halfshaft from the axle housing.
Be sure you peen the new ones in securely. Or, as another alternative, you can
supposedly buy a fully-threaded stud and thread it in from the back, removing
any concerns over the stud coming out of the hub.
