For parts, you're probably right. There is no shortage of complaints on
the MB lists about 'stealerships' though I've found my local dealership
to be very helpful. It's not too surprising that U.S. dealers wouldn't
have a lot of expertise with euro-spec models though; they may not even
have the catalogs to help your friend.
For the jump start and free fuel, that's a corporate thing. Call
1-800-FOR-MERC and they send someone.
