I would suspect the hydraulics, first. I can't see how a booster would give
you that symptom. But check the operation of the brakes before starting to
see how they feel without the booster. If you get the same travel then I'd
look
elsewhere.
First things first. Adjust the rear brakes.
Next, Try bleeding the system.
If you still have the symptom then it could be either the calipers pistons
are settling back in the calipers or the brake master cylinder. But the
dreaded
caliper piston knock-back is usually the result of stresses that occur during
driving and not whilst sitting idle so I'd be inclined to look at the master
cylinder next.
