I agree with all Dave said, just wanted to add that ring seating has never
been a problem in my experience.  Without exception, every case of "rings
not seating" I've seen has turned out to be something else (like a chunk of
swarf where it shouldn't be).  I believe it primarily applied to older
engines, with cast iron rings.

Me too.  I'm religious about not applying full throttle at any speed or
running over 4000 rpm until after at least 500 miles or so.  Then gradually
work up to full throttle at redline, for short bursts.

Can you imagine the lawsuits that would ensue if they did ?  That fellow
that totaled the Ford GT with only 9 miles on it, for example, would no
doubt claim he was just following the factory's instructions !
