The wife and I traveled to Santa Fe this weekend, but on the way stopped to
see Vern Harvy and his wife, just north of Truth or Consequences, NM and
picked up the bonnet he brought down from Joe A.
Then we headed for Albuquerque and met Henry Morrison and his son Saturday
morning to pick up the TR4 engine Joe and Jack built for me.
Vern and Henry, great folks, and what a neat bunch of cars they have. How
much cash for the Land Rover pick up Henry?
We got home yesterday afternoon after stopping at the auto parts store to
buy the Chinese made "Shop crane and engine stand". A couple of hours to
assemble these and now the new engine sits mounted to the engine stand in my
garage!
Now I have no more excuses for not pulling the old engine and proceeding
with the restoration. By the way, what's the source for the best new water
pump? I could put the old one from my old engine, but that would seem to be a
bit of false economy.
